This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Performs a variety of duties in the composite hand lay-up area, robotic, automation, acoustic, avionic, vibrational and/or optical areas.
- Constructs, fabricates, assembles, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Technician (Level 2): 2+ years working as a technician in a related field
- Mid-level Technician (Level 3): 5+ years working as a technician in a related field
- Experience with composites and hand lay-up techniques for monolithic and sandwich panels is required
- Be a self-starter who can work alone, if necessary and meet a deadline
- Must possess teaming skills, interpersonal social skills, strong ethics, and good work habits
- Be able to lift, bend and stand for prolonged hours
- Possess written and verbal skills necessary to be able to effectively work within an integrated product team environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2- year Associate's Degree from Trade/Technical School
- Experience with or be willing to learn machine shop type equipment (drills, saws, sanders, etc), ovens and autoclaves, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
- Familiarity with aerospace specifications preferred.
- Experience with FTIR, GDS, GCMS instrumentation is also preferred.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range - Associate Technician (Level 2): $44,700 - $68,550
Summary Pay Range - Mid-Level Technician (Level 3): $54,200 - $83,100
