This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Reports to: Senior Manager of Employee Relations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
- Train, coach, and advise leaders on handling sensitive conversations, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct fair, thorough investigations of employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace concerns.
- Advise leaders on disciplinary actions, including progressive discipline and terminations, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Partner with HR teams, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Security to manage complex cases.
- Draft comprehensive, accurate reports and present findings to support data-driven decision-making.
- Facilitate proactive employee relations strategies to prevent issues and strengthen engagement.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously while adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in employee relations, HR, or related function.
- Level 2: 2-5 years of experience - Salary estimate: $53,450-$95,400
- Level 3: 5-10 years of experience - Salary estimate: $71,700-$128,000
- Proven ability to resolve workplace conflict with fairness and diplomacy
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent judgment and ability to make sound, independent decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Union/Labor Relations: Prior experience supporting unionized workforces, administering CBAs, or participating in labor negotiations.
- Investigations Expertise: Advanced knowledge of conducting complex investigations (e.g., harassment, discrimination, retaliation, ethics, safety).
- Legal/Compliance Acumen: Familiarity with employment law (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, NLRA) and ability to partner with Legal/Compliance teams.
- Change Management: Experience supporting workforce transitions, restructures, or organizational change initiatives.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Communication Skills: Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Industry Experience: Background in aerospace, manufacturing, or a highly regulated industry.
