Responsibilities:
As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you are an essential member of our clinical team. You will be partnering together with our talented doctors who are committed to providing excellent dental care to our patients. Responsibilities for the role include:
- Partner with doctors to improve oral health, solving dental challenges and bettering smiles every day
- Welcome patients in the dental office
- Tear down and sterilize treatment rooms
- Help educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
- Complete lab prescriptions: coordinate lab cases for packaging and pick up
- Document and update patient dental, health, and medication history in Open Dental
- Prepare patients for treatments and ensure their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Effectively assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry in accordance with the state dental practice act
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
- Tear down and sterilize treatment rooms
- Help educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
- Complete lab prescriptions: coordinate lab cases for packaging and pick up
- Document and update patient dental, health, and medication history in Open Dental
- Follow all OSHA guidelines and regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
- Keep a clean, sanitized work area, and ensure the equipment is used properly to prolong the lifespan of the machines
- Interact with Front Desk, Dental Assistants, and other Hygienists daily, in a cooperative and friendly manner
- Place and contour composite restorations - EFDA
- Place sealants - EFDA
- Perform Coronal Polishing - EFDA

Experience:
- Dental Assisting: 1+ years of experience preferred
