Job Summary
Metrology Technician 2 is responsible for the calibration and certifying of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Roles and Responsibilities
Calibrate, certify, and maintain electronic and dimensional test equipment in compliance with technical specifications and NIST traceability.
Perform equipment calibration, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration using schematics, blueprints, and test procedures.
Conduct complex testing, diagnostics, and design modifications to electronic, digital, and analog instrumentation and monitoring systems.
Maintain accurate calibration, repair, maintenance, and test records in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements.
Use hand tools, machine tools, laboratory test equipment, and computer‑based diagnostics to isolate and resolve equipment issues.
Support engineering and production teams through troubleshooting, design modifications, and technical recommendations.
Serve as a technical resource for customers and operators, providing guidance on equipment operation and requirements.
Lead resolution of complex technical issues; mentor, train, and support lower‑level staff as needed.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with HS&E requirements.
Provide activity, status, and technical reports to management and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
High school diploma with minimum 2 years’ experience or associate degree with 3 years’ experience in relevant field.
U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
Military PMEL/TMDE training preferred.
Preferred experience in physical calibration: electronic, force, torque, temperature, and pressure.
Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus.
