Job Location: Tech Court School - Westminster, MD 21157
Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly
This position supports the planning of camp activities and owns the operational execution of the Celebree School summer camp program. The Summer Camp Teacher ensures the proper supervision and safety of all summer camp children while ensuring that the company’s mission, vision and values are upheld. This position models appropriate behavior and provides support and director for Summer Camp Assistants. If applicable, this position also acts as the prime owner of transporting children to and from field trips.
This position requires a knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children and the ability to manage a group of school age children. This position also requires strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills and patience and flexibility. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Essential Functions:
- Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents, visitors, and school family.
- Promotes teamwork and enthusiasm fostering commitment to Celebree’s mission, vision, and values.
- Coaches and develops students and co-workers through modeling of behaviors that meet Celebree standards,
- Attends all team meetings, trainings and events as requested; limits unscheduled absences.
- Supports accountability culture and maintains it through peer leadership.
- Provides support and direction to coworkers to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
- Creates an exceptional parent/child experience through anticipation of customer needs.
- Ensures brand standards are maintained.
- Presents a positive and professional image at all times, adhering to uniform requirements.
- Ensures program is consistently clean, neat, and organized and meets visual execution standards.
- Leads change through demonstrating personal flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in all aspects of their role.
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude in all written and verbal communications.
- Manages summer camp activities ensuring compliance with all OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
- Fosters open communication with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child as well as summer camp news.
- Creates and implements summer camp activities and ensures all safety processes and procedures are followed during in school and out of school activities.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels’ children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
- Accurately completes all classroom paperwork, e.g., Daily Reports, Accident Reports, and Attendance Records.
- Transports children to and from field trips safely, obeying all traffic laws and performing inspection of the bus before and after each route.
- Cleans, maintains and ensures proper use of camp facilities, equipment and the Celebree school van/bus
- Identifies opportunities and/or concerns of the summer camp program and works with School Management to resolve.
- Maintains certification requirements regulated by the State.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers and self.
Qualifications
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be physically able to work in summer temperatures for an extended period of time.
Education/Experience:
State requirements of School-Age Program Lead Teacher qualified
Minimum of 1-year experience in a licensed child facility.
Summer Camp Teachers driving the van must be over the age of 21. Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving history. Less than two points on driving record. Ability to adhere to all company safety standards and operating procedures. Ability to successfully pass a background check. Passion for working with children.
Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Computer skills, educational software.
