About the Role
The Aftersales Engineering organization is responsible for ensuring service deliverable readiness for every GM vehicle globally. This team supports the efficient and effective execution of Aftersales Engineering work within their respective function.
Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate, and release service parts in accordance with service criteria.

Communicate and advocate for technical requirements related to serviceability, including subsystem and component‑level specifications.

Develop and maintain subsystem service plans for service part release across assigned programs.

Investigate, root‑cause, and drive the resolution of service issues.

Build and maintain effective cross‑functional relationships with:

Resolve engineering issues related to service parts through daily collaboration with multi‑functional, global teams.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

2+ years of experience in a related engineering field.

Technical knowledge of serviceability and/or component design, with interest in developing specialized expertise.

Knowledge of the vehicle development process, change management, and immersive or virtual engineering systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively across functions to solve problems and deliver results.

Active participation in engineering teams and forums, including raising concerns and contributing feasible solutions.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with business partners.

Demonstrated accountability for upholding GM’s core behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with automotive service parts (wholesale or retail).

Background in manufacturing or vehicle engineering.

Working knowledge of automotive service practices and procedures.

Understanding of vehicle systems.

GM dealership or field experience.

Hands‑on experience with automotive diagnosis and repair.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
