Duties
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on sourcing the best suppliers and negotiating favorable contracts.
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms to streamline procurement workflows.
- Conduct thorough supplier evaluations, including root cause analysis, to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal value while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Oversee contract management processes, ensuring all agreements adhere to federal acquisition regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and production planning to align procurement activities with operational needs.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics, identify risks or bottlenecks in procurement or logistics, and implement corrective actions proactively.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS for procurement management and materials planning.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing advantageous contracts and pricing agreements.
- Deep understanding of supply chain management principles including sourcing strategies, supplier management, logistics, and category management.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and contract law applicable to government or large-scale procurement projects.
- Proficiency in using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to support production planning and inventory control.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot procurement issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-departmental collaboration.
