THE WORK
The Airframe Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated individual with proven technical ability and business judgment.
The selected candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop airframe designs for customer requested aircraft modifications, support aircraft production, and resolve technical issues from ground and flight test.
This individual will ensure that the design team is properly integrating with other functional disciplines and suppliers to achieve balanced designs that meet Sikorsky and customer requirements. Layouts and detail design models will be prepared and reviewed using 3DX and other design tools as required. Tasks will also include development of statements of work, supervision, design reviews, providing status updates and quality control of work from internal designers and work offloaded to Design Centers.
The goal is to accomplish work statements in accordance with standard work processes on schedule, within budget, and with utmost quality.
The candidate will also be involved in generation of proposals for future work including statement of work/requirements review, basic data layouts, and estimating. Some infrequent travel to production facilities, test sites, and suppliers may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with minimum of seven years of professional experience
* Experience in design of metallic and composite airframe structures
* Proficiency in 3DX or equivalent CAD/PLM system is required
Desired Skills:
* Experience in model based definition
* Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
* Proficient in design of composite airframe structure and use of composite ply development tools such as CPD
* Proficient in creation of DFARs compliant BOEs
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
