About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Employment and Investigations Division of the Wells Fargo Legal Department. As a highly regulated and sophisticated financial institution, Wells Fargo has several functions and programs designed to support ethical conduct and identify, investigate, and mitigate employee misconduct. The Employment and Investigations Division provides advice and counsel on matters relating to employee conduct including allegation management and internal investigations. In this role, you will:- Oversee the investigation of employment-related matters
- Provide strategic guidance to investigators through the lifecycle of an investigation, including corrective action determinations
- Partner with investigative team as needed to improve processes, manage workload, and maintain quality standards.
- Represent the Company in complex litigation, negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims-related legal issues
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables and contribute to large-scale planning
- Provide legal advice and represent of the Company in highly complex litigation, negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims related legal issues
- Draft complex legal documents, review and negotiate documents prepared by outside counsel
- Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a mentor for less experienced staff
- Work directly with business clients and develop an in depth understanding of business unit activities and products
- Partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs
Required Qualifications:- 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States
Desired Qualifications:- Experience conducting internal investigations involving employment misconduct
- Experience working with investigation professionals
- Experience handling and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex state and federal employment law matters
- Experience handling employment litigation, administrative issues, and arbitration of employment claims before AAA, JAMS, or other arbitration forums
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
