Kitchen Assistant – Apple Crate Naturals
At Apple Crate Naturals, our mission is to inspire healthier communities by connecting people with real food and natural alternatives. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our from-scratch kitchen, helping us provide fresh, clean, and delicious offerings to our customers.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that centers around keeping our kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly. A big part of your day will involve washing dishes, cleaning prep areas, sanitizing surfaces, and making sure equipment and tools are always ready for use. You'll also assist with basic food prep and support the cooking team as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing & Cleaning:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly to maintain a steady workflow.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and food storage areas according to health and safety standards.
- Sweep and mop floors, empty trash, and ensure the kitchen remains organized and safe throughout the shift.
- Food Preparation Assistance:
- Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing items for the cooks.
- Follow kitchen protocols to ensure prepared items are ready and stored appropriately for production use.
- Inventory & Stocking:
- Monitor and replenish kitchen supplies such as soap, gloves, and other cleaning items.
- Help receive and store deliveries, ensuring stock is rotated properly and organized neatly.
- Team Support:
- Assist the kitchen team in any additional tasks to support efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen processes and collaborative work environment.
- Safety & Sanitation:
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly, according to standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a kitchen setting preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to work well with others and take direction in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Reliable and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
