KBR is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Modeling & Simulation (M&S), wargaming, and analytical systems integration to lead complex DoD technical efforts supporting advanced decision-making, force design, and capability development. In this role, you will guide multidisciplinary teams through challenging problem sets that require deep domain expertise, advanced analysis, physical and data-driven testing, and integration of next-generation M&S technologies. You will shape project direction, develop innovative solutions, and oversee the preparation of assessments, system implementation plans, and test and evaluation strategies. Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for advanced M&S and wargaming system integration, providing expert guidance, recommendations, and problem solving across complex technical areas.
- Conduct physical testing, structured data analysis, and technical interpretation to validate models, simulations, and analytical frameworks.
- Lead the preparation of system assessments, integration strategies, implementation plans, and test and evaluation artifacts aligned with program goals and emerging capability requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to cross-functional engineering, analysis, and software development teams engaged in multi-million-dollar research, development, and acquisition efforts.
- Evaluate emerging technologies—including AI/ML, microservices-based architectures, and advanced analytics—to inform modernization roadmaps and M&S federation strategies.
- Translate operational and capability requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring traceability through the acquisition and engineering lifecycle.
- Mentor team members, provide constructive feedback, and support workforce development within the project team.
- Coordinate with government customers, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical execution with mission objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 20+ years of experience, or 28+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Extensive experience providing subject matter expertise in Modeling & Simulation, systems analysis, or related DoD technical domains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (M.S. or higher) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience integrating AI/ML technologies into modeling and simulation or analytical decision-support systems.
- Background in VV&A, analytics for AoA studies, wargaming tool development, or multi-domain simulation environments.
- Certifications such as DAWIA Engineering or Program Management.
- Experience coordinating with multiple DoD stakeholders, FFRDCs, and industry partners on large-scale M&S or wargaming initiatives.
