About the Team
Workday’s Cybersecurity & Trust organization exists to inspire confidence and trust in Workday. We safeguard the personal information of 60+ million people and the financial information of some of the largest companies in the world.
Cybersecurity is woven into the fabric of Workday and is core to everything we do! We nurture a security-first mentality and believe that moving with speed and velocity is enabled by building security into the foundation.
The Workday Enterprise Security function is crucial for protecting Workday's critical data, infrastructure, and applications by providing expert guidance, technical solutions, and risk mitigation across all enterprise systems, focusing on security architecture, technical controls, and policy enforcement. The leader of Enterprise Identity will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for all Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. This role requires deep domain expertise in complex IAM solutions (SSO, MFA, PAM, IGA), the ability to develop a scalable, zero-trust-aligned identity strategy, deep technical proficiency with tools like Okta and Azure AD, proven success in leading engineering and operations teams, and an excellent understanding of risk management, security frameworks, and compliance (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
About the Role
Do you have a passion for identity security and business enablement?
As the Director of Enterprise Identity, you will serve as the principal architect and champion for the digital fabric that connects our people to their work. This is a high-visibility leadership position designed for a strategic problem solver. The ideal candidate will view identity not just as a security perimeter, but as a critical driver of business velocity and employee experience. You are responsible for leading an elite team of engineers to build a resilient, Zero Trust ecosystem that secures thousands of global identities across a complex, multi-cloud environment. Beyond the technical stack, you will act as a key advisor to executives, translating sophisticated identity risks into strategic business outcomes and ensuring that our identity posture evolves at the speed of modern threats. If you are a builder who thrives at the intersection of deep technical concepts and high-level organizational influence, you will find this role both challenging and transformative.

10+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering, architecture, cloud and/or related role

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com.
