Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Test Structures Manager to join the Cargo / Utility Rotorcraft Platforms located at Ridley Park, PA. The new manager will be managing day-to-day Structures Lab Test operations for multiple platforms and flight test programs based out of Ridley Park (Chinook, Osprey, Grey Wolf etc.). The selected candidate will coordinate with the Engineering Capability Leader defining short- and long-term goals and capabilities. In addition, coordinating test assets and capability of required testing from this site and traveled work from other sites. Manage all capital investments and long-range planning for capital investments into the lab.
Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the test labs. Establish career development plan for employees. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Develop resource planning for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Technical aspects: cost, schedule, and other programmatic aspects; and proposal support (including development of labor estimates)
Develop and engage Employees through: coaching; mentoring; and employee performance assessment, as well as identifying growth opportunities and assignments that best fit the needs of the individual and the company
Oversell All capital investment project and long-term planning
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years of experience supporting a military test program
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Experience with Structures Lab Testing
Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates
Experience with Program Management Best Practices including: Requirements Management; Earned Value Management; and Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management
Communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to change and deal with ambiguity
Experience leading a technical team, and experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience as an Instrumentation or Design/Build Engineer on a military test program

Summary Pay Range: $151,300 - $204,700
