As 3rd Shift Welder 3, you will under general supervision, directly support the assembly line by performing miscellaneous repairs and maintenance of tooling/fixtures, fabrication of new tooling and/or equipment, assist with minor PinPoint ERP software support and other basic Assembly Planning tasks. This position utilizes tooling, fixtures, handling systems, safety, quality checks, inspection, ergonomics, minor computer support, general line calls and other duties as assigned. PinPoint training will be provided but the candidate must be comfortable using Microsoft Office as well as have MIG welding, and some tool or jig-making experience.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manual MIG welding on steel and all associated material preparation/finishing using bandsaw, angle grinder, belt sander, manual plasma cutter, etc.
Provide quick help for line issues including repairing tooling/fixtures/equipment and fixing simple PinPoint issues (basic PinPoint training provided).
Use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
General knowledge of manufacturing, methods, and processes.
Complete routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change) of all shop equipment.
Builds structures and tooling to specification when prints/concepts are provided or designs custom solutions when assigned.
Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Must be able to function as part of a team, willing to be multi-trained and maintain a safe work area.
Contributing team member.
Must have effective communications skills.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 3 years of MIG welding experience.
Intermediate level of proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) using Windows PC and software such as Microsoft Office suite.
Intermediate level of proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in creating tools, jigs and fixtures.
Top candidates will also have:
Experience with TIG welding on aluminum materials, Stick welding and Arc Gouging.
Intermediate level of proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in area(s) related to
Manufacturing including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shop Operations
At least one year of technical service area experience.
Some experience in design software, such as AutoCAD, and a commitment to improving those skills.
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in reading blueprints.
Perform tasks as needed.
Perform tasks needed to support CI improvements, NPI and CPI efforts, and Product launches.
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in recognizing or describing the mechanical functions and specifications of products and/or parts.
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in verbal and written
communication skills.
At least one year of experience in machining processes.
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in the knowledge Standard Assembly tools and their applications.
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) level of proficiency in Mechanical Design.
Associate degree is highly desired or further education (ex. apprenticeship program, trade certificate/diploma or degree from an accredited school or program).
Some experience in lifting device manufacturing, testing or inspection.
Intermediate level of proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) related to manually.
operated equipment- Lathe, Grinding, Mill (vertical, horizontal, boring) and Radial Drill.
Independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.
Product assembler experience.

Summary Pay Range:
$26.75 - $33.45
