HVAC/Refrigeration Tech – JLL
What this job involves:Join JLL's facilities management team as an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician and play a critical role in maintaining optimal building operations. This position oversees daily operation of site HVAC/HVAC-R systems, utilities, and other building systems including water and steam. You will focus heavily on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems with a high percentage of hands-on work. This role requires technical expertise in HVAC-R maintenance and troubleshooting, with multi-skill capabilities in pipe fitting/plumbing and electrical work, directly contributing to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences through seamless building operations.
What your day-to-day will look like:
• Manage and maintain air handling equipment, including air filters, DP monitoring, and air balancing
• Manage and maintain various site refrigeration equipment such as coolers and freezers (reach-in and walk-in)
• Respond to and resolve all system alarms promptly
• Monitor, adjust, and maintain various systems including heat exchangers, HVAC, cooling towers, VAV systems, electrical systems, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems
• Perform maintenance and repairs on ventilation systems, heating hot water systems, pumps, valves, piping, and filters
• Analyze system operations, identify issues, and implement corrective actions
• Install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing, and electrical components (under Senior Electrician guidance)
Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years' experience with commercial building systems, specifically including refrigeration components
• Universal EPA 608 certification (Refrigeration)
• Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
• Fluent in English with strong conflict resolution and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, and move safely to perform job tasks
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate tight spaces
• Trade license, apprenticeship, or equivalent trade experience/vocational certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience or knowledge with Johnson Controls BAS systems
• Customer service skills in a client-facing environment
• Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Experience with SAP
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate man lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, and be respirator fitted
