Job summary:
The Caterpillar Mapleton Foundry, based in Mapleton, IL, has an excellent opportunity within our senior leadership team as the Strategy Manager. In this role you will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with the Director of Operations while leading and coaching various functional area project partners towards the execution of our strategic priorities.

What you will do:
- Manages complex and/or confidential projects or facilitation events requiring high level skillset to produce desired outcomes.
- Oversees the execution and development of project consultants supporting key strategic initiatives.
- Provides technical leadership and coordination of continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborates with business leaders on using a disciplined project management approach and coaching them on their project-related roles and responsibilities.
- Develops and deploys the digital strategy for the campus
- Facilitates business processes
- Identifies and executes projects that will drive improved cost structure both near-term and long-term
Skills you must have:
- Stakeholder Management: Extensive knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.
- Cross-Team Integration: Extensive understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Extensive knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Applying appropriate techniques to analyze potential plans to reach productive decisions based on informed judgement.
- Consulting: Extensive knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in designing, planning, and facilitating group processes. Exhibit the ability to apply knowledge appropriately to elicit contributions from group members, stimulate focused discussions and achieve desired outcomes.
- Effective Communication: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Knowledge of and experiences in communicating changes from current state to desired state.
- Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: Working knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization while paying equal attention to recognizing and anticipating organizational, operational and process problems.
- Visioning: Working understanding of the value of articulating an intended business outcome and ability to create and communicates a vision of the organization that motivates others to superior performance. Using appropriate tactics and strategies to impact decisions that lead to future state objectives.
- Producing Results: Understanding of the criticality of getting things done despite current circumstances and the ability to utilize assigned resources and leverage back-channel resources (individuals or teams) to achieve or exceed planned outcomes.
- Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required
Top candidates will also have:
- Demonstrated achievement in direct or indirect leadership roles focused on one or more of the following; manufacturing, operational excellence, capital management, supplier management, purchasing management, or maintenance management.
- Direct experience in developing and implementing digital transformation in the manufacturing or foundry environment
- Demonstrated achievement and experiences in project/program management
- Demonstrated success in leveraging Lean principles to deliver business outcomes that improve process efficiency and reduce costs.
- Foundry experience preferred

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
