Position Summary
The Housing and Community Support Services Specialist works directly with Aetna Better Health of Louisiana members, community partners, and local agencies to address both urgent and emergent housing needs in South Louisiana. This role supports members in accessing safe, stable housing and navigating available community resources.
Key Responsibilities
Member Support & Housing Navigation
Provide members with information and referrals to shelters, resource centers, and affordable housing providers across Southern Louisiana (Beauregard County - East to Washington County and South)
Assist members and their Aetna care managers with completing housing applications and gathering required documentation.
Support the evaluation process to determine member eligibility for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) through the Louisiana Department of Health.
Assist members with completing and submitting PSH applications and coordinating next steps.
Community & Agency Collaboration
Build and maintain strong working relationships with community housing providers, government housing authorities, and local support organizations.
Partner with housing entities to proactively address housing instability and improve access to resources for members.
Leverage established housing programs and support the expansion of housing initiatives and resource availability throughout South Louisiana.
Required Qualifications
Must reside in Southern Louisiana (Beauregard County - East to Washington County and South)
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of experience in low‑income housing assistance and community development
Strong knowledge of housing programs, community resources, and support services
Ability and/or experience working effectively with diverse populations and individuals experiencing housing insecurity
Must possess reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time. Mileage is reimbursed per our company expense reimbursement policy
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree
Experience in Managed Care
Familiarity with Louisiana Medicaid (LA MCD)
Experience working with a housing authority or community housing provider
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and community engagement skills

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$54,300.00 - $119,340.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
