Description:You will be the Aircraft Flight Line Inspector for the team which is responsible for inspecting complex, state-of-the-art aircraft between assembly and delivery to the customer.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Aircraft Flight Line Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and operating entire aircraft electronic systems, including new systems, for conformance to company and customer specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting completed aircraft compartment by compartment, including cabin and flight station, involving structures, functional installations, accessories, instruments, etc.
- Inspecting the installation and operation of test instruments, devices, or systems used for recording results of performance of the aircraft, its components, assemblies, functional units, accessories, or other items during aerodynamic, stress, flight, or other tests
- Operating or observing the operation of all aircraft functional assemblies and systems, including control surfaces, instrument readings, power plants, or other operations during power runs
- Inspecting routing, installation, and operation of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, fuel, oil, and other functional systems, lines, and installations, making operational checkouts of such systems as required
- Checking and approving the installation and functioning of special testing equipment and ballast in aircraft for test flights

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced inspector with a strong knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, and electronic systems. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical data, and the ability to work with various testing equipment and systems.

Basic Qualifications:Must have the following minimum levels of experience and/or training.
1. Four years experience within the past eight years performing military or commercial integrated systems maintenance and/or inspection on ‘LIVE’ fixed wing or rotary aircraft.
2. The following education and/or experience received within the past eight years may be used to offset a portion of the four years experience requirements as stated below:
–Applicable documented (DD-214) Avionics, electrical or Aircraft Maintenance technical school training may be included in the four-year minimum requirement for those individuals trained in the US Military service.
–A current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License may be substituted for six months of equivalent experience.
–A two-year Associate Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Aviation/Electrical or Avionic/Electronics Technology may be substituted for up to a year of experience.
–A four-year Bachelors Degree in Aviation Maintenance or Aviation/Electrical or Avionic/Electronics may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
–Each year of Active Air Reserve/Air National Guard aircraft systems maintenance duty may be substituted for two months of experience up to a maximum of sixteen months.
NOTE:
(1) “Live” aircraft is defined as aircraft with all functional systems operable and with the aircraft’s fuel and oxygen systems activated. “Live” aircraft experience includes working in the preparation for and release of aircraft for flight and includes knowledge of and experience in dealing with aircraft systems such as: fuel systems, liquid/gaseous oxygen, hydraulic, electrical, avionic, flight controls, landing gear, emergency egress equipment and engines.
(2) General Aviation/maintenance experience will not be considered as meeting the experience requirement stated in #1 above.
(3) Individuals must also have documented evidence of ability to read and interpret detailed assembly and installation blueprints as demonstrated by successful completion of the blueprint reading test, or by successfully completing LMCO’s Blueprint Reading II or it equivalent.
(4) Qualified individuals must also be able to pass LMCO’s Inspection Eye Examination.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
