Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Capability Functional Enablers Program Manager (Level M) to join the Mechanical & Structural Engineering (MSE) Capability team.
We’re seeking a results-oriented leader to drive the development, execution, and organization-wide adoption of advanced engineering processes that increase efficiency, lower cost, and improve producibility across BDS. This role leads cross-functional teams and matrixed partners to transition new process technology from development into steady-state production.
Key responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end delivery of an engineering functional enabler program (first year: Advanced Manufacturing), ensuring on-time execution and operational readiness.
Capture and document technical knowledge, establish repeatable processes, and institutionalize best practices.
Design and deploy scaled training to enable broad adoption across engineering and cross-functional teams.
Identify, assess, and mitigate program, production, and supplier risks.
Grow and qualify the supply base to meet production volume, quality, and cost goals.
Integrate execution across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and sustainment.
What success looks like
A validated, documented process in steady-state production use.
Broad organizational adoption including training and governance.
Stable supplier base meeting production requirements.
Measurable improvements in cycle time, cost, and producibility metrics.
Qualifications:
Proven leadership in process development, change management, and cross-functional program integration.
Experience managing matrixed teams and supplier development for new production processes.
Track record of transitioning manufacturing/process innovations into production.

Responsibilities for first-year project will include:
Improve guidance for advanced manufacturing design & operational issue resolution
Enhance supplier engagement
Evolve advanced manufacturing technical solution
Integrate Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) guidance and execution
Lead update of training & command media
Cost and schedule oversight
Implement advanced manufacturing solution for rate
Scale advanced manufacturing supply-base
Customer interface with suppliers and U.S. government project offices.
Position Responsibilities:
Communicate with all levels of management including executive leadership, external customers, and possess concise presentation skills
Manage employees performing engineering Internal Application Development (IAD) activities as well as supporting production programs
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Develop and execute business strategies that improve efficiency, affordability and overall profitability
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Develop new proposals for follow-on work and additional business capture
Manage, develop and motivate employees
Support engineering managers with daily coordination and personnel tasks
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
More than 7 years of experience with project leadership leading cross-functional teams
More than 7 years of experience in project management including interfacing with suppliers, partnerships, and/or customers
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
CAM experience/budget management experience
More than 3 years of experience with Program Management on defense related programs
Prior management experience with IAD programs.

Summary pay range:
Level M: $191,250-247,000
