Job Title: Benefits Analyst
Location: New Brighton, MN - onsite
The Benefits Analyst will deliver accurate, compliant day-to-day administration of APi Group’s U.S. health & welfare plans, serving 7,000+ U.S. teammates and contributing to the stewardship of $75M+ in annual health & wellness spend. Primary focus will be on billing/invoicing and reconciliations, eligibility/data audits, and leave & disability case coordination. You will partner with Payroll, HRIS, external vendors, and the Sr. Benefits Analyst to maintain data integrity, resolve teammate issues, and support Annual Enrollment (planning, UAT, and post-go-live cleanup) at scale.

What You Will Do
Operations & Controls
- Run weekly/monthly eligibility, deduction, and retroactivity audits; research and clear exceptions, document fixes, and recommend preventive controls.
- Monitor HRIS/BenAdmin file feeds (SFTP/EDI) and exception queues; triage issues and coordinate corrections with HRIS/Payroll.
Billing, Financials & Reporting
- Reconcile monthly vendor invoices (medical/Rx, dental/vision, life/AD&D, disability, COBRA, EAP, point solutions); resolve variances and secure credits/adjustments.
- Maintain billing calendars, documentation, and approvals; prepare accrual inputs and basic variance reports for Finance.
Leave & Disability Administration
- Coordinate intake and eligibility confirmations for FMLA, state PFML, disability, and ADA with vendors and People Partners; track milestones and return-to-work.
- Align leave status with payroll/timekeeping and benefits eligibility; escalate complex cases to the Sr. Analyst/Manager.
Enrollment & Member Support
- Support Annual Enrollment configuration testing (test scripts, UAT evidence), communications logistics, and post-OE cleanup.
- Process life events and corrections; resolve teammate inquiries on coverage/claims and COBRA with accuracy and empathy.
Vendor, Contract & Governance Support
- Prepare vendor meeting notes, SLA/guarantee evidence, and action logs; maintain artifacts in shared repositories.
- Assist with document hygiene for contracts/SOWs and security questionnaires under Sr. Analyst/Manager direction.
Compliance & Risk
- Maintain SOPs and evidence logs (ERISA/ACA/COBRA/HIPAA basics); assist with filings and audits as assigned.
- Protect PHI and follow APi data-security standards.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s in HR/Business (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of U.S. benefits administration experience with hands-on billing/invoicing and leave/disability exposure in a multi-state environment.
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots); comfort with HRIS/BenAdmin platforms ad basic reporting.
- Service-oriented, detail-driven, and organized; able to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
- Foundational knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA; familiarity with FMLA/ADA workflows.
Benefits and Compensation:
This role will be based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $62,000 - $92,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
