Overview
The
Product Manager II (PM II) for Growth Analytics in IDEAS owns the definition and delivery of
broader, end‑to‑end product scenarios that enable teams across Microsoft to experiment, measure impact, and make data‑driven decisions about Copilot growth. This role operates with significant autonomy in an environment with
ambiguity, multiple dependencies, and evolving customer needs.
You will be responsible for connecting multiple investments across experimentation, analysis, and insights tooling to ensure they work together cohesively to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. You will partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and research to shape product strategy, drive execution, and continuously learn through hypothesis‑driven experimentation.

Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own broader experimentation and analysis scenarios, defining clear problem statements, success metrics, and outcomes rather than narrowly scoped features.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that connects multiple investments into a coherent end‑to‑end experience for experimenters and analysts.
- Anticipate risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts, and make informed tradeoffs across scope, quality, time, and partner needs.
Experimentation & Analysis Enablement
- Drive the development of robust experimentation and analysis tooling, enabling customers to run A/B tests, multivariant experiments, and post‑experiment analyses at scale.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams to ensure experimentation frameworks are reliable, measurable, and extensible.
- Promote hypothesis‑driven experimentation to validate product decisions and iterate based on learnings.
Data‑Driven Decision Making
- Use quantitative telemetry and qualitative customer insights to inform product decisions.
- Define and monitor success metrics for product features and experimentation workflows.
- Apply analytical rigor to evaluate outcomes and adjust strategy based on evidence.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, design, and data science to define requirements, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Communicate product direction, progress, and results clearly to stakeholders across disciplines and levels.
- Proactively identify when additional alignment or help is needed and engage the right partners.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with internal customers to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs related to experimentation and analysis.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements.
- Ensure alignment between product direction and broader business goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
