Job Overview
Installs and repairs general plant equipment.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and physical facility, lifting devices (hoists & cranes).
- Completes periodic reports and advises supervisor of equipment status and recommended action.
- When required, paints and does minor carpentry and/or plumbing work and/or repair.
- Uses overhead cranes, hoists, ladders, and tow motor to move and position equipment or do repairs.
- Reads hydraulic schematics, trouble-shoots, and repairs hydraulic systems.
- Fabricates metal for machine guards, tables, etc. by machining own parts.
- Troubleshoots and repairs lift trucks.
- Assist Machine Repair/Rebuild person as needed.
- Obeys all safety rules, wears proper PPE, and adhere to 6S standard.
- Refer to Best Practices manual for further directions
- Perform all daily TPM activities as required.
- Assist engineers and supervision to make improvements to parts, methods, fixturing and work place organization for continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Previous work history supporting the Key responsibilities listed above
Additional Expected Competencies:
Read piping diagrams, Read electrical schematics, Use welding and brazing equipment
