Transfer pricing focuses on how different entities in a multinational business interact to generate profits together.Transfer pricing analysts combine qualitative/verbal factual analysis with numeric/quantitative analysis to understand the market and internal forces that allow multinational businesses to create value, and how the profits from that value creation are spread across different tax jurisdictions.Transfer pricing requires curiosity about business, a focus on critical thinking, but also a comfort with ambiguity and qualitative reasoning.An interest in international matters is an advantage.
Examples of the candidate’s responsibilities include:
- Co-developing and co-leading client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, and completing transfer pricing projects
- Working with personnel across business lines on transfer pricing projects, managing detailed economic, financial, and accounting analyses demonstrating an understanding of transfer pricing concepts and method application to cases
- Evaluating intercompany transfers of tangible goods, intangible property, services, and loans and conducting financial and economic analyses of multinational and domestic corporations, industry and market research, economic valuations, comparative financial benchmarking, and report documentation
- Reviewing detailed reports and memoranda outlining client facts and analyzing market and economic factors.Strong writing skills are a must.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial and economic data for tax and regulatory compliance through the use of MS Word, Excel, and various statistical sampling packages
- Reviewing and analyzing GAAP financial statements
- Leading client interaction to gather information, often working with client personnel in leadership positions
Basic Qualifications:
- Require a minim of five (5) years experience providing transfer pricing services in a public accounting or tax consulting firm or related industry.
- Knowledge in several of the following areas: financial statement analysis, valuations, quantitative analysis, industry analysis, and statistical sampling and econometrics.
- A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagements for various clients.
- A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships with businesses.
- Experience selling professional services in a public accounting or tax consulting firm.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid research and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work will both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Requires a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business/Management, Finance, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency and interest in advanced analytical software
- Master’s degree in a related field and/or related license/certification (CPA, CFA, etc.)
- Foreign language skills a plus

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $107,500 - $215,600
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
