This position will be responsible for completing, on a continuous and proactive basis, the Tucson Airport & Airforce Plant 44 Site facilities electrical safety risk assessment associated with all existing electrical power distribution equipment focusing on electrical equipment shock and arc flash risk hazards where components are operating at 50 volts or more AC and DC as addressed in the latest edition of NFPA 70E, “Electrical Safety in the Workplace” and mandated by the RTX Corporate and Raytheon EHS Electrical Safety Policy noted.

Conduct risk assessments associated with electrical power distribution system impedance modeling, determination of symmetrical fault current calculated values and equipment specific incident energy analysis.

Conduct analysis and assessment that for Performing electrical distribution equipment “Arc Flash Evaluation/Calculations” per IEEE standards and EH&S Group.

Conduct safety assessment for electrical power distribution systems using AutoCAD based master as-built electronic files.

Conduct assessment analysis, evaluation, hazard equipment labeling and documentation.

Review and oversight of ongoing changes to the existing site electrical power distribution systems and construction execution efforts.

Ensure compliance with all RTX and Raytheon Corporate, federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and standards with regards to assigned Project electrical scope of work (SOW).

Coordinate electrical designs with other building design disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security.

Interface and coordinate Project electrical requirements with internal and external resources such as information technology, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
-
This position role and responsibility requires a BS Electrical Engineering, (BSEE), BS Architectural Engineer, Power Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience in building electrical engineering/design and construction, or an advance degree and three (3) years of experience. In the absence of a degree a combination of eight (8) years relevant experience, education, and/or certifications in lieu of degree may be considered.

Working knowledge and experience with basic electrical engineering analysis and calculations associated industrial electrical power distribution system using industry recognized third party electrical engineering analysis software package such as SKM Software and Power Tools for Windows (PTW) or similar software package for system impedance modeling and performing system fault current, load flow and voltage drop, equipment arc flash evaluation and hazard labeling, feeder, branch circuit, and transformer sizing, and overcurrent protective device coordination studies.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

At least five (5) years in building and facilities electrical engineering, design, construction with emphasis on the following:
-
High, medium and low voltage rated industrial electrical power distribution systems.
-
Electrical power distribution systems having multi-frequency ratings (e.g. 50/60 and 400 Hertz (HZ.).
-
Uninterruptable power supply (UPS).
-
Local, alternate on-site electrical power generation systems, including diesel engine/generators and enclosures, automatic and manual transfer switch (ATS/MTS) and related electrical code and NFPA requirements.
-
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, “Electrical Safety in the Workplace” and specifically, available incident energy, corresponding working distances, approach boundaries, and arc flash personal protective equipment (PPE) for electrical equipment being evaluated.

Electrical power distribution system load calculations and electrical distribution equipment sizing and capacity ratings.
-
Industrial motor and process controls and interlock systems.
-
Other electrical based low voltage systems such as secure and un-secure communications, electronic security, fire alarm detection and alarm, public address, audio/visual, power distribution system engineering analysis including load, voltage drop, fault current, motor starting, harmonic and equipment arc flash evaluation and safety labeling.

Familiarity with building and facility architectural, structural, mechanical HVAC, process and plumbing, civil, and environmental compliance and other discipline general design and construction coordination and execution methods and requirements.

At least five (5) years of experience with Project electrical construction execution, methods and materials including customer service and project execution in electrical power distribution systems.

At least five (5) years of experience writing clear technical engineering specifications, reports and operating procedures.
-
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance within 120 days of acceptance and start of employment with RTX.
Qualifications We Prefer:
-
Have an active Professional Engineering license/registration in Electrical Engineering in the State of Arizona or be eligible to obtain the registration within 6 months from the date of hire.

Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) per NFPA 780 and specifically, Air Force Explosive Safety program and requirements.

Industrial grounding and bonding design in support for electrical safety and explosive safety.
-
Electrical design and construction material take-off and cost estimating using material and labor unit cost data base.
-
Interior and exterior lighting design and controls.
-
Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate with internal leadership/management, outside suppliers & vendors, contractors, and internal customers.

Proficiency in reading, printing/plotting, and creating CAD drawing redlines and construction documents.
-
Expert knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 90, 101, and 110 as well as other national, state, local building codes and regulations concerning facilities design/engineering, operations and maintenance activities.

Solid computer skills including proficiency with AutoCad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Scheduler.

Knowledge of ICD705 physical security requirements for sensitive compartmented buildings and structures.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
