Job Summary
Data is crucial to the day-to-day operations and decision-making at Comcast, and the Director, Technical Data Product Management(Data) for the Data and AI team will play a critical leadership role in delivering Comcast’s strategic goals. This Director will lead a team of Technical Product Managers to define and evolve Comcast’s portfolio of data products. In this role, the leader will work cross-functionally with Customer Engagement, Engineering, Architecture and Business stakeholders to develop data products and to partner with a diverse array of internal data customers to deliver best-in-class data products. Among other duties, the Director will set the vision and oversee the definition and execution of data strategies that meet key business use cases, operating in a technology-rich and data-rich environment to solve complex, day-to-day data problems at Comcast.

Core Responsibilities:
- Product Definition & Roadmaps: Set the strategic direction for data products across multiple technical platforms, domains, and functional areas by evaluating business cases, finding the +1 opportunity, and guiding the team in socializing concepts. Work through Technical Product Managers to convert these opportunities into product features and detailed data product requirements and roadmaps (use cases, MVP, epics, user stories, success metrics), while understanding the broader business impact for the data ecosystem.
- Customer-Centric: Champion a deep understanding of customer and business stakeholder perspectives when defining MVPs to identify underlying needs, recognize trends, and anticipate future demand across supported domains. Ensure the team translates these insights into data product features that meet user expectations ,influence broader roadmap and prioritization decisions.
- Data: Own the strategy and lifecycle of key data products across supported platforms and domains. Define what data products are needed, how they are designed and consumed, and how they evolve to meet changing business, customer, and AI/analytics needs. Direct Technical Product Managers, data engineering, and analytics teams on priorities for new data products, enhancements, and retirement so the overall data product portfolio remains usable, reliable, and high‑value.
- Technology: Provide strategic direction across multiple technical platforms and data environments, ensuring technology decisions support long-term scalability, performance, and reliability. Partner with engineering and other leaders to evaluate options, resolve key technical trade-offs, and sponsor architectural approaches that effectively address market, customer, and business needs.
- Communication: Deliver clear, compelling storytelling for the data product portfolio that drives consensus and energizes executives and constituents across the company. Set the standard for how the team communicates product strategy, status, risks, and outcomes through documentation, internal enablement materials, and executive presentations.
- Implementation: Oversee the translation of product strategy into executable technical work by reviewing high-level technical designs, capacity plans, and major delivery milestones, while keeping day-to-day hands-on product management to a minimum. Remain intimately familiar with product details and team challenges, ensuring backlog grooming and delivery plans result in features that consistently meet business and technical acceptance criteria.
- Collaboration & Support: Act as the senior go-to leader for assigned data products and domains, enabling and unblocking teams as they support internal users with complex questions and issues. Foster a culture of open feedback, making sure structured input from users and partners is fed back into product roadmaps and backlogs, and take end-to-end responsibility for team culture, resources, and product outcomes—you succeed or fail with your team
- Oversees development of assigned new products and services and ensures customer's needs are met. Provides product support and documentation and develops of product materials.
- Manages lifecycle of new products and services.
- Demonstrates excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in Data platforms or related technical roles
- 4+ years of Product Manager/Product Owner experience
- 4+ years of people leader experience.
- Proven track record owning the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of data products or data platforms in a large, matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical and quantitative background
- Responsive, able to adapt to fast-moving projects
- Quick learner, comfortable with nascent technologies and emerging strategies
- Comfort with budget, headcount, and vendor decisions for data platforms and tools.
- Experience driving adoption and change management for new data products across diverse internal teams.
- Have worked with or understanding of:
- Data pipelines and workflow orchestration
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Data warehousing (design, architecture, and optimization)
- Storage and compute systems
- Cloud platforms, especially AWS (including S3, EC2, Lambda, and security)
- Streaming technologies (such as Kafka or Kinesis
