About the Role
The Systems Architect is a senior, customer-facing technical leader responsible for shaping system solutions that align with client goals, expectations, and real-world constraints. This role sits at the intersection of client relationships, technical vision, and delivery reality.
Systems Architects work closely with clients, consultants, Sales, and internal teams to ensure that complex AVL systems are conceived honestly, communicated clearly, and executed successfully.
This is a high-trust individual contributor role with significant influence and visibility.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Client & Consultant Engagement
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients during early project phases
- Build trusted relationships by listening carefully and translating client needs into technical intent
- Participate in OAC / MEP coordination meetings as the technical representative
- Communicate system capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs clearly and respectfully
Presales & Technical Discovery
- Support Sales with early technical discovery and ROM development
- Evaluate existing conditions, infrastructure constraints, and integration risks
- Help set realistic expectations around scope, schedule, and performance
- Identify project risks early and work collaboratively to address them
System Architecture & Technical Direction
- Define overall system architecture across audio, video, control, and networking
- Design complex, signal-dense systems including AV-over-IP and broadcast-adjacent workflows
- Establish clear design intent that downstream teams can execute confidently
- Document assumptions, risks, and dependencies that affect delivery
Internal Enablement & Handoff
- Partner with Design Engineers to translate architectural intent into detailed documentation
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure designs are executable and aligned with project plans
- Support Field and Commissioning teams during key execution milestones or escalations
What Success Looks Like
- Clients feel heard, respected, and confident in the proposed solution
- Projects begin with clear technical direction and shared expectations
- Internal teams trust the architecture and understand the rationale behind decisions
- Risks are surfaced early rather than discovered during execution
