Role Summary:
The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Salesforce Data & Integration Architect to define, govern, and evolve the data and integration architecture for Salesforce CRM and its connected enterprise ecosystems across Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defence, Space & Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS) businesses.
This role is accountable for end-to-end data architecture strategy, integration patterns, and governance spanning Salesforce platforms, data platforms, and downstream enterprise systems. The architect will ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, analytics-ready, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
The Salesforce Data & Integration Architect partners closely with Product Management team, Enterprise Architects, Salesforce agile teams, Analytics teams, and Security stakeholders to enable trusted data, seamless system interoperability, and AI-ready capabilities while reducing technical debt and operational risk.
Position Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern the overall Salesforce data and integration architecture strategy across CRM platforms and integrated enterprise systems.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data models supporting transactional processing, analytics, reporting, and AI-driven capabilities.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including metadata management, master data strategy, data quality standards, lineage, and stewardship models.
- Partner with Integration Architects and Salesforce teams to define API-led connectivity patterns, orchestration strategies, and data exchange standards ensuring consistency and reuse.
- Ensure all data flows and integrations comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FFU, Threat modelling and internal compliance standards).
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Analytics teams to enable actionable insights, trusted reporting, and analytics-ready datasets across platforms.
- Govern data integrity and consistency across Salesforce orgs, middleware layers, data platforms, and upstream/downstream systems such as SMDW.
- Define and oversee data lifecycle management strategies, including archival, retention, purge policies, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Provide architectural oversight and guidance to Salesforce, MuleSoft, development teams, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
- Review and approve solution designs, data models, and integration architectures, balancing business needs with long-term platform health.
- Proactively identify architectural risks, integration bottlenecks, data quality issues, and compliance gaps; define mitigation strategies.
- Partner with DevSecOps and Release teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices support data and integration quality.
- Drive continuous improvement by reducing technical debt, improving integration reliability, and modernizing data architecture patterns.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, integration architecture, or enterprise solution architecture roles.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce data modeling, large data volumes (LDV), and multi-org strategies.
- Strong experience designing Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
- Proven experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API-led connectivity, orchestration, error handling, and governance).
- Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working in regulated, large-scale enterprise environments with strong security and compliance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)
- Salesforce certifications such as Data Architecture & Management Designer, Integration Architecture Designer, System Architect, or Application Architect.
- MuleSoft certifications (Developer or Architect level).
- Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise data platforms (e.g., data warehouses, analytics platforms, cloud data services).
- Experience supporting AI/ML-enabled analytics, data readiness for Einstein or external AI platforms.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance for integration-heavy platforms.
- Experience mentoring architects and senior engineers, and influencing architecture decisions across distributed teams.
Typical Education & Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 13 Plus years' related work experience or Master’s Degree with 12+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
