About the Role
This Hardware Technician Intern position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, repair, and maintenance of advanced electronic and electromechanical systems used in mining environments. As an integral part of our technical team, you will engage with sophisticated hardware including electronic boards, onboard computers, radio communication systems, and GNSS equipment that are fundamental to our Modular brand solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and identify faults on electronic circuit boards, conducting repairs, performing configurations, and carrying out rigorous testing to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Execute software and firmware updates for embedded systems including onboard computers and communication hardware, ensuring devices operate with the latest enhancements and security features.
- Assemble, test, and validate the integrity and performance of cables and wiring harnesses, maintaining strict adherence to quality standards and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, repair actions, and recommendations, to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments by providing technical and logistical support, facilitating smooth operation workflows and fostering a culture of teamwork.
- Contribute proactively to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting the reliability, quality, and efficiency of our hardware solutions in line with company objectives.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a technical program specializing in Electronics, Electrotechnics, or Industrial Automation, demonstrating a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics, essential for accurate troubleshooting and repair work.
- Experienced in using measurement instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers to collect precise data and verify system functionality.
- Capable of preparing comprehensive technical reports with clarity and attention to detail, complemented by excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies, with curiosity and motivation to expand technical expertise in mining-related hardware systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical English proficiency at levels S1, S2, or S3 to effectively comprehend technical documentation and communicate in a global work environment.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills fostering effective collaboration and knowledge exchange within diverse teams.
- A creative and innovative mindset to contribute fresh ideas and solutions in hardware development and troubleshooting.
