Job Overview
If you’re a student who enjoys hands‑on work, staying active, and learning how a busy industrial yard operates, this role is a great opportunity to build real‑world experience. You’ll support logistics, shipping, inventory, and basic maintenance tasks while working alongside skilled tradespeople and project teams. It’s a chance to grow your confidence with tools, equipment, and workplace safety—all while contributing to major projects across Canada.
Reports to:Project Technical Support
Shift: Monday- Friday, 8h/day
Term: 4 months- May to August
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
- Keep work areas, office trailers, and sea cans clean, organized, and safe
- Support general yard duties and handle cleaning supplies safely
- Receive, store, and organize incoming parts and components
- Ship sea cans and tools to project sites; inspect and process returns at project completion
- Conduct inventory checks and monitor sea can contents regularly
- Return loose items to their proper locations in the yard
- Assist tradespeople with assembling or modifying sea cans and office trailers using hand and power tools
- Complete required safety documentation and maintain a safe work environment
- Pick up and deliver tools, equipment, and vehicles to vendors
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (pre‑apprenticeship training is an asset)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- General knowledge of tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic, good communication skills, and ability to follow direction
- Self‑motivated with solid time‑management skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Previous labour, shipping/receiving, or yard experience is an asset
