Overview
The Safety Manager (Trainer) provides on-site leadership for safety, compliance, and training activities within a single transportation contract. This role is responsible for reinforcing safe work practices, managing a small team, ensuring adherence to company standards, supporting incident response, and delivering established training programs to frontline employees.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $70,000. - $75,000 annually
(final offer based on experience, skills, and market alignment).
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Directly manage two hourly safety auditors, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day supervision.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development.
- Address performance issues, including corrective action and discipline up to and including termination.
- Assign and monitor daily responsibilities, ensuring completion of required audits and observations.
- Ensure auditors are aligned with operational priorities and safety expectations.
- Maintain accountability for team performance, productivity, and quality of work.
Safety Oversight & Compliance
- Support and enforce company safety policies and procedures within a single operational location.
- Conduct routine safety observations and inspections within driver lounges and operational areas.
- Reinforce safe behaviors and ensure employees follow established safety protocols.
- Review Motive (telematics) data and ensure timely, effective coaching is completed based on driver behaviors and trends.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Respond to incidents specific to airfield shuttle operations.
- Document and report incidents accurately and in a timely manner using internal systems.
- Escalate incidents through proper internal channels.
- Support internal reviews of incidents to help prevent recurrence.
Training Delivery
- Deliver existing safety, compliance, and job-specific training to new and current employees.
- Conduct driver-related training as required for operational roles.
- Facilitate safety briefings and reinforce key safety messages.
- Operational Support
- Maintain safety-related records and documentation as required by company standards.
- Track and support completion of required training and compliance activities.
- Assist leadership in reinforcing operational expectations and safety performance.
Communication & Team Support
- Communicate clearly with employees and supervisors regarding safety expectations.
- Participate in meetings and provide safety-related updates.
- Promote a positive and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience with no major violations.
- CDL (Class A or B) with Passenger & Airbrake Endorsement.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to follow and reinforce established procedures and training programs.
- Must be proficient in English.
Preferred
- Experience in transportation or shuttle operations.
