Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic, highly organized, and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist to join our healthcare organization. This highly autonomous role serves as a senior-level individual contributor with responsibility for leading complex financial initiatives, mentoring junior analysts, and influencing strategic decisions at the executive level.”
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan & Forecast: Lead the development of multi-year strategic financial plans and enterprise-wide forecasting processes; challenge assumptions and drive alignment across business units. Partner with leaders to develop the annual budget; own calendar, assumptions, and stakeholder alignment.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee long-term liquidity strategy and capital allocation recommendations; advise leadership on risk mitigation. Build and maintain the cash flow forecast model; monitor near-term liquidity and working capital drivers; flag risks and opportunities.
- Decision Support & Modeling: Design advanced financial models for high-impact decisions, including M&A, partnerships, service offerings and new market entry; provide sensitivity analyses for executive decision-making.
- Performance Insights: Deliver timely insights related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and operational metrics; highlight variances and root causes. Translate complex data into actionable insights for C-suite; proactively identify trends and recommend strategic pivots.
- Problem Solving: Identify business challenges across functions; propose analytical solutions and process improvements that drive measurable outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Partnering: Collaborate with clinical, operations, sales, IT, and finance teams to define metrics, goals, and cadence for business reviews. Serve as a key financial advisor to senior leaders across clinical, operations, and commercial teams; lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize performance.
- KPI Reporting: Design and maintain dashboards and management reports; gather and transform data from the data warehouse, ERP, and other sources into clear narratives.
- Executive Communication: Own executive-level reporting and presentations for board meetings, investor relations, and strategic planning sessions; synthesize analysis, articulate trade-offs, and frame decisions with relevant data and recommendations.
- Cost & Efficiency: Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational efficiency, margin improvement, or cost reduction.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build trust and maintain effective relationships with business partners at all levels. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing decisions through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science). Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience; healthcare sector experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, scenario analysis, and management reporting (advanced Excel required).
- Demonstrated success in shaping financial strategy and influencing executive decisions.
- Experience supporting M&A, capital planning, and enterprise transformation projects.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or specialized healthcare analytics platforms.
- Solid understanding of accounting, financial, and operational principles; ability to connect P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow impacts.
- Communication excellence—comfortable presenting complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders; strong storytelling and slide-building skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strategic, “big picture” view.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, payer mix dynamics, and industry-specific financial challenges is a plus.
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance (e.g., HIPAA) and high standards of ethics and integrity.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite (budgeting, forecasting, SuiteAnalytics, reporting).
- NetSuite Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist certification strongly preferred but not required.
- Relevant credentials (e.g., AFP FPAC, CFI FMVA, CMA) that demonstrate advanced FP&A capabilities are a plus.
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES:
- Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query/Power Pivot), Power BI (or Tableau), ERP (NetSuite preferred), and data warehouse/reporting environments.
- Familiarity with planning platforms (e.g., NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Vena, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan) is beneficial.
- Experience leveraging predictive analytics, automation tools, and advanced BI platforms to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency
Salary Range Target: $108K - $115K (can go to $120K for candidates who have 7+ years of experience, healthcare reimbursement experience, and in-depth knowledge of NetSuite and BI).
