About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking an
Enterprise Architecture Governance Architect to support and mature the company's architecture governance practices. This role provides oversight, guidance, and decision support for technology initiatives with medium to high enterprise impact and helps ensure consistent, compliant, and strategically aligned architecture outcomes across the organization.
In this role, you will:- Define and lead enterprise architecture governance for initiatives with medium to high enterprise impact
- Establish, maintain, and evolve enterprise architecture standards, principles, reference architectures, and governance artifacts
- Lead or provide senior guidance within architecture review and decision forums
- Evaluate solution architectures for alignment with enterprise strategy, target-state direction, risk, and compliance requirements
- Identify systemic architecture risks and drive corrective actions or strategic remediation
- Provide authoritative architectural guidance to solution architects, engineering teams, and delivery leaders
- Communicate enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and governance decisions to senior management and technology leadership
- Make and guide architecture decisions by balancing business needs, risk posture, cost, and long-term sustainability
- Mentor and coach architects in enterprise thinking and governance practices
- Ensure consistent adherence to Wells Fargo architecture standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with risk, security, compliance, and operational partners to embed governance into technology delivery
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of architecture experience, including enterprise, domain, or solution architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 5+ years of experience defining architecture standards or direction and leading architecture governance activities
- 5+ years of experience assessing complex technology designs and providing clear, defensible architectural recommendations
- 5+ years of experience working across multiple teams, platforms, or lines of business
Desired Qualifications:- Experience leading or supporting enterprise or domain-level architecture review boards
- Strong understanding of risk management, regulatory, and compliance considerations in large-scale environments
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience mentoring architects or serving in a technical leadership role

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
