Description:You will be the Environmental Health & Safety Engineering Associate Manager for the Environmental Health & Safety team. Our team is responsible for safeguarding employee health, protecting the environment, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the facility.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Environmental Health & Safety Engineering Associate Manager, you will be responsible for leading daily ESH operations, managing contracts, and driving performance improvements.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direction and support daily operations for the ESH professionals at the facility including training, performance assessments, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Direct and manage contracts which support the ESH organization, including properly licensed hazardous waste firms, environmental assessments and permitting, and emergency response activities.
- Promote the ESH culture by driving various ESH performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
- Build effective relationships and trust with key stakeholders and business partners thus driving program enhancements.
- Manage the site’s ESH management system elements and support development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
- Assure compliance with applicable ESH regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate implementation of MFC and Corporate ESH assessment and recordkeeping programs.
- Support emergency response operations through assistance and provide oversight to staff during response activities, driving post-incident investigation and corrective action activities, and as a member of the Emergency Operations Command team.
- Support management of the ESH organization’s expense and capital budgets.
- Coordinate with other MFC locations and represent the facility in working groups, Integrated Performance Teams, or new initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in ESH-related discipline with at least 5 years professional expertise in an aerospace and defense environment, or at least 8 years professional experience in an aerospace and defense environment without a degree.
• Experience with Program and Team Leadership.
• Experience reporting to and interfacing with Environmental and/or safety regulatory agencies.
• Fundamental understanding of environmental and occupational safety and health requirements in manufacturing, research, and development (R&D), and construction operations.
• Experience developing and maintaining environmental, safety and health programs in compliance with key regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, across levels of the organization.
• Proficient with computer-based tools and applications (Microsoft Office business programs).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:• Previously demonstrated leadership experience of a small group or team.
• Previous experience planning and allocating tasks and workload across a team.
• Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001/45001 and/or OSHA VPP; Lead auditor certification a plus.
• Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
• Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
• Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
• Experience authoring command media and program documentation.
• Experience in change management and planning activities as they relate to ESH integration and considerations.
• Demonstrated management experience and oversight of budget elements, including both overhead and capital expenditures.
• LM21 green or black belt or other continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge, including thorough root cause analysis and mistake-proofing processes.
• Proficient in reporting and accounting tools used at the site, such as Enablon and Lockheed Martin developed systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
