Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Design Support Engineer. In this role, you will:
- Evaluate and investigate pertinent design factors on aircraft retrofit and production engineering design, 3-D models, and drawings
- Identify design compatibility errors and verify all features are of one interpretation, complete and adequate for downstream users
- Ensure the engineering design, models/drawings, and related data meet all contractual, company, and program requirements
Successful candidate must be able to work in a model centric environment and should be efficient with PC operations and MS Office Suite. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or related technical major
- Familiar with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications

Desired Skills:- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiar with reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Very detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
