Job Description
Universal Television Entertainment is responsible for world-class television entertainment. The division programs and markets content across leading entertainment brands Bravo, NBC and Peacock, and produces over 3,000 hours of television annually through Universal Studio Group, the studio business comprised of Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Together, these teams align NBCUniversal’s content and production expertise to inspire global audiences with television that entertains and shapes culture.
The Strategy and Research teams at Universal Studio Group play a vital role in optimizing business decisions and driving continuous improvement across the organization. The team is a key business partner to the Presidents of the Universal Television Studios, the Universal Television Entertainment senior leadership team, and broader Universal Entertainment executive leadership.
The USG Strategy and Research teams are seeking a Coordinator to work across both departments. The role will provide high-level administrative support to the Head of USG Business Operations & Strategy and the EVP of Global Research & Insights in addition to special project assignments extending into each of the operating segments. Specific projects will include assisting in the TV financial modeling process, market research, data analysis, and assisting on various ad hoc analytical projects to support strategic planning. The role will report to the EVP of Global Research & Insights with a dotted line into the Head of USG Business Operations & Strategy, as a form of dual reporting.
Administrative
- Provide administrative support to senior group executives including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and general office management tasks
- Organize and schedule meetings and conference calls with both internal stakeholders and external partners, often adjusting plans quickly based on shifting priorities
- Manage Microsoft Teams and email communication with senior-level executives and staff across the organization
- Exercise sound judgment when handling inquiries from vendors, candidates, and employees; resolve issues as appropriate
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Plan and execute internal events and meetings, including senior staff gatherings and off-sites—managing all logistics such as vendor coordination, catering, AV setup, and scheduling.
Analytical & Operational
Strategy
- Formulate presentations for executive management on current USG business initiatives
- Assist in building regular industry updates, competitor benchmarking, and other related presentations for USG senior leadership team
- Generate ad-hoc analyses to answer critical and time-sensitive business questions and identify areas of strategic opportunity.
- Prepare material for USG executive presentations (e.g., Long Range Plans, Operational Reviews, Executive Talking points, etc.) and building/executing strategic plans and analyses
- Assist in preparing financial models related to TV show financing, business development, and assessment of M&A opportunities
Research
- Manage the database programming and processing of proprietary USG Research tools
- Collaborate with Managers, 3rd party vendors and IT to develop, execute and report data-driven insights including trends & consumer landscape studies
- Create & modify charts/presentations plus writing cogent analysis in PowerPoint presentations
- Manage data tagging and naming conventions for internal systems for optimal reporting & analysis
- Provide analysis/highlights to the businesses on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as needed for NBCU leadership
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; ideally in economics, finance, statistics, media/communications or related field
- 1+ year of experience
- Analytical experience working with complex data sets, preferably in TV/Streaming media industry
- Excellent organization, communication, presentation, & storytelling skills, verbally & in writing
- Impeccable attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy and quality
- Solid sense of curiosity, and willingness to learn
- Self-starter with ability to work collaboratively and independently
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development or research in a leading media company
- Advanced Excel skills: Comfort with rigorous modeling, scenario analysis, and data manipulation
- Advanced PowerPoint skills: Expertise crafting visually clear, logically structured, and persuasive presentations for executive audiences
- Proficiency with Nielsen measurement systems (NPower, NNTV); Experience with Adobe Analytics, ComScore TV Essentials, and additional media measurement tools
- Tableau, SQL and additional programming languages used for data analysis (i.e. R, Python) a plus
- Highly motivated and disciplined with a strong sense of ownership, and the flexibility to work effectively both independently and in highly collaborative team environments
- Proactive, self-aware team player with a growth mindset, high personal standards, and a clear commitment to continuous personal and professional development
- Polished professional presence with comfort engaging across all levels of the organization, and the judgment to adapt communication style and approach as needed
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, always-on environment with frequently shifting priorities
- Quick learner with openness to adopting new tools, systems, and ways of working
- Enthusiasm for TV and working in the TV business
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
