The Communications Specialist plays a key support role in developing and executing internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement and alignment with organizational goals. This role focuses on delivering day-to-day communications with oversight from team members, while gaining exposure to a wide range of corporate functions.
Working within a collaborative Communications team, the Communications Specialist supports cross-functional initiatives in partnership with departments such as Executive and Regional Leadership, Human Resources, Marketing, Information Services, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Clinical Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafts and edits internal communication materials, including emails, newsletters, presentations, intranet content, and talking points.
- Maintains internal editorial calendars and assists with scheduling and tracking deliverables.
- Provides logistical and coordination support for internal campaigns and initiatives.
- Monitors communication channels, including the Communications Inbox, and escalates issues as needed.
- Ensures all communications are consistent with brand voice, tone, and visual standards.
- Assists in tracking and reporting on communication metrics to help assess impact and effectiveness.
- Collaborates with senior team members to implement communication plans aligned with business priorities.
- Supports the development and maintenance of internal communication platforms such as the intranet.
- Contributes ideas to enhance employee engagement and improve internal communication processes.
- Participates in team meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a communications environment
- BS/BA in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field; MS/MA preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication skills, with highly developed editing, and interviewing /researching skills
- Thorough understanding of multiple communications and production channels
- Recent experience in planning and implementing comprehensive communications plans and projects for a large complex organization and large infrastructure
- Excellent project management skills; ability to manage a number of internal communications projects within strict timelines and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work effectively with communications department team members.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team-oriented highly collaborative environment
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Proficiency in the English language required
Pay Information
$60,000- 7$0,000 a year plus bonus
