Caterpillar’s Resource Industries team is developing key technologies to help our customers build a better, more sustainable world! Our products will help shape the future of electrified mine sites around the world.
As an Electrification Site Development Manager, you can play a pivotal role deploying electrification solutions to a strategic mine site in Chile. You are the Caterpillar single point of contact for the mine site. You will work directly with the customer, our dealer and Caterpillar engineers to prepare the site, adapt Caterpillar electrification solutions to the site application and feedback critical information to aid in solution performance and enhancement.
What you will do:
Be the primary interface from Caterpillar to the customer and dealer at site
Manage communication flow between Caterpillar and the various teams at site
Work closely with the customer to develop, execute, and govern a multiphase site implementation plan
Facilitate site electrical infrastructure development (electrical power from the mine’s power source to the point of use)
Work with the local dealer to ensure required dealer support capability is in place
Ensure site & operational readiness
Oversee product assembly, installation, and commissioning
Manage all actions and responses to deliver uptime
Monitor product performance, identify and communicate issues back to internal product support and engineering teams
Collaborate with Caterpillar and dealer teams to implement product updates at site
What skills will you have:
Technical Excellence: Experience with electrification, power systems or heavy equipment. Understanding of mining equipment and mine site operations.
Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Create appropriate communications using a variety of formats.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Project Management Experience: deploying complex projects, includes goal setting, action planning, determination of critical paths, coordination of multiple team members, timeline management, resolution of unanticipated challenges, communication of project deliverables and milestone reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
An accredited Engineering degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in mining
Strong English language capability
Minesite experience

Additional Information:
In this role, you will be required to be physically present on customer’s site full time on a roster pattern aligned with the customer (example: 4 x 3) near Calama, Chile.
Domestic relocation assistance is available
This position may require significant travel to the United States or other global mine sites as part of onboarding and training.
