How will this role impact First Command?
The Associate Director, Advisor Operations works directly with the Advisor Operations department leadership to lead, execute, and support initiatives and activities that further First Command’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Director, Field Support Operations and acting as a liaison to First Command Home Office lines of business, Advisors, District Advisors, and Divisional Leadership teams, this role will lead initiatives and duties specific to the needs of Advisor Operations and the field force.
What will the employee do in this role?
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and relevant stakeholders to draft, review, and execute the approval and publishing of SOPs.
- Serve as primary point of contact in the coordination, facilitation, and tracking of PCS-related office transitions for active-duty military spouse Advisors, including the periodic review and revision of supporting materials.
- Provide Advisor Operations input to the Enterprise Portfolio Management function, ensuring requirements, risks, and dependencies are documented and incorporated into project plans, digital initiatives, and financial roadmaps.
- Serve as an Advisor Operations liaison to Field Leadership and XTO to identify needs and requirements, inform product roadmaps, and implement change that increases effectiveness and profitability.
- Coordinate with Advisors and Field Leadership to gather and synthesize feedback on digital and financial initiatives, translating input into requirements, impact assessments, and recommendations to inform roadmap prioritization.
- Define, manage, and deliver critical milestones and metrics; provide metric analysis to Executive Leadership. Review and analyze Advisor Operations activities in support of field production to identify trends and assess ROI.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for escalations from field leaders and home office departments and leadership, quickly identifying concerns and proposing solutions focused on opportunities for resolution, improvement, communications, and/or training.
- Contribute to the execution of training and communication plans associated with programs or initiatives and work with Home Office leadership to track and assess ROI associated with approved programs.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage field advisory councils and ambassador programs.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage field-facing events including the All Field Call, Field Forum, etc.
- Contribute subject matter expertise to communication efforts regarding field business impact, timing, messaging, and leadership awareness.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage activities that promote Field Employee Advisor effectiveness in servicing clients, including coaching and tracking production metrics.
Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a closely related field.
Work Experience
- 5 years related experience
- Field experience preferred (experience as Advisor or field support staff at First Command or a similar financial services organization)
- Sales experience in a performance-based environment preferred.
Certifications
- Series 7 & 66 (63 & 65 combination also acceptable) preferred.
- Series 24 preferred
- Texas Life & Health Agent preferred.

- Proficiency with Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including PowerBI and Copilot, strongly preferred.
- Ability to quickly adapt to evolving technologies and business processes strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with military branches, hierarchies, and pay and benefits structures strongly preferred.
