About the Team
Adaptive Planning is a strategic and rapidly growing business unit within Workday, helping organizations around the world transform how they plan, model, and make decisions. Our marketing team operates with a builder mindset—combining the scale and reach of Workday with the agility and focus of a standalone business.
Events are one of our most important growth levers. They play a critical role in driving pipeline, accelerating deals, strengthening customer relationships, and building a global community of finance and business leaders. We are building a modern event engine that is highly targeted, deeply integrated with Sales and Customer Success, and focused on delivering measurable business impact.
About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Event Marketing to build, define, and lead Adaptive Planning’s global event strategy and portfolio. This role will oversee the full spectrum of events, including field marketing executive programs, third-party conferences, Adaptive-owned flagship events, customer community engagement, and Adaptive’s presence within Workday’s global event ecosystem.
You will build and lead a small, high-performing global team and establish the foundation for a scalable, high-impact event program. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution—someone who can operate scrappily and move quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality and experience.
You will partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Growth Marketing, and Product Marketing to ensure events directly contribute to pipeline creation, deal acceleration, customer retention, and advocacy.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining and owning Adaptive’s global event strategy aligned to business and revenue priorities
Leading field events & executive programs (intimate dinners, hosted hospitality), third-party conferences (trade shows, industry events, partner events), marquee owned events - including our inaugural annual Adaptive conference across 3 continents, and community engagement initiatives (user groups, community forums, roadmap tours)
Shaping Adaptive’s presence within Workday-owned events and advocating for strategic visibility and impact
Building and managing a small global event marketing team
Driving measurable pipeline, revenue influence, and customer engagement through events
Operating efficiently and creatively within budget while maintaining execution excellence
About You
Basic Qualifications
10-12 years of event marketing experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, or a related industry
Proven experience owning and executing global event programs, including field events, executive programs, conferences, and third-party sponsorships
Experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams
Demonstrated ability to drive pipeline, revenue impact, or measurable business outcomes through events
Strong executive presence and ability to partner effectively with senior Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leaders
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, and highly cross-functional environment
Strategic mindset paired with willingness to be hands-on and execution-focused
Other Qualifications
Scrappy, resourceful, and agile, with the ability to deliver high-impact experiences efficiently
Strong operational discipline, attention to detail, and project management capabilities
Experience integrating events into broader go-to-market campaign motions, including account-based marketing, deal acceleration, and customer engagement
Passion for creating thoughtful, differentiated experiences that strengthen brand and relationships

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
