Coen Markets, a trusted regional convenience and food service company since 1923, is proud to support the DoD SkillBridge Program by offering transitioning service members a hands-on Store Manager in Training opportunity. This program is designed to bridge military leadership experience into a civilian management career through structured training, mentorship, and real-world operational responsibility.
This role prepares participants to step into a Store Manager position by developing core competencies in leadership, operations, logistics, financial management, and team development.

What You’ll Do (SkillBridge Training Focus)
- Receive structured, on-the-job leadership training in retail and food service operations
- Learn end-to-end store management, including staffing, scheduling, and daily operations
- Lead and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Drive performance through sales growth, cost control, and operational efficiency
- Ensure safety, compliance, and execution of company policies and procedures
- Manage inventory, cash controls, and basic financial performance metrics
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a clean, well-organized facility
- Apply military leadership principles to civilian team development and accountability

Ideal SkillBridge Candidates
- Active-duty service members approved (or eligible) for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Background in leadership, operations, logistics, supply, or supervision
- Experience managing people, processes, or equipment in high-accountability environments
- Strong communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working variable schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required — leadership and accountability matter most.
