Security Operations is responsible for the security and safety of cast members, guests and the protection of company assets for all non-theme park locations in all areas of the United States and Canada. A Day in the Life of a Security Manager…
Operations and Incident Management
- Monitor and manage incident reports using D-3 and Dispatch systems.
- Investigate, escalate, and resolve incidents efficiently and in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure timely closure of all cases and accurate documentation.
- Utilize Genetec/Milestone to retrieve, archive, and manage video surveillance footage.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR/ER, and local law enforcement on investigations as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and chain-of custody procedures.
- Monitor the functionality of all security-related systems and software.
- Coordinate with technical support to address outages or performance issues promptly.
- Conduct regular checks of radios, CCTV, access control systems, and emergency equipment.
- Ensure that all designated entry points, doors, and facilities are properly locked and secured at the end of the tour.
- Conduct evening rounds to verify that critical areas are secure and alarm systems are activated.
- Lead daily roll calls, communicate key updates, and assign responsibilities.
- Foster a cohesive team environment and provide real-time direction as needed.
Visitor Management:
- Review and process visitor entries via the VMS system.
- Approve or deny flagged visitors in alignment with security and compliance protocols.
- Ensure front-of-house teams are updated on any access restrictions or VIP movements.
Production Support:
- Provide security coverage and logistical coordination for:
- WTVD Local News.
- Support production teams in managing crowd control, talent movement, and secure access to studio spaces.
- Monitor production-related activity to mitigate risk and ensure a safe working environment.
Administrative and Reporting Duties:
- Generate shift activity reports and submit end-of-tour summaries.
- Maintain updated records of training, incidents, and staffing.
- Participate in managerial meetings and contribute to policy updates and procedural improvements.
- Oversee payroll accuracy and manage adjustments in SAP.
- Develop and maintain officer schedules for all shifts, ensuring adequate coverage across all tours.
- Confirm that all security officers possess valid New York State licenses and required certifications.
- Monitor and enforce completion of compliance training through D Learn.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure regulatory and internal policy adherence.
- Lead a team of employees and provide feedback and coaching regularly
Here are the skills you will need to have to be successful in this role.
- 7+ years of private sector security and / or US military security experience
- 3+ of experience in leading a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and security software platforms.
- Must be able to work one of the following shifts: 7AM-3:30PM, 3PM-11:30PM and 11PM-7:30 AM
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Previous experience in a supervisory security role preferred.
