This role sits within ourField Services and Maintenanceorganization, supporting military customers operating theF101 and F118 propulsion systems. The position isprimarily based at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, withroving supportto additional customer locations includingTinker AFB (Oklahoma City, OK), Whiteman AFB (MO), and Ellsworth AFB (SD).
The team provides on-site technical expertise and customer support for engine operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities, serving as the direct connection between the customer and GE Aerospace’s engineering, supply chain, and program teams.
Role Overview
TheF101/F118 Military Field Service Representative (FSR)provideson-site and roving technical assistanceto military organizations operating F101 and F118 propulsion systems, supporting bothcustomer mission readinessandbusiness objectives.
As theprimary GE interfaceat Dyess AFB and other supported locations, you will:
- Act as thesingle point of contactfor technical, maintenance, and support issues related to F101 and F118 engines
- Support theoperation, management, repair, maintenance, and overhaulof these propulsion systems
- Coordinate closely with GE factory and functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and fulfillment of contract deliverables
This is afull-time, first-shift, on-site field rolewith travel to multiple customer bases as required.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Interface & Issue Resolution
Serve as the single point of contactfor the customer regarding maintenance, repair, and management of the F101 engine at the primary location and the F118 engine at roving locations. Provide timely and satisfactory resolutionof customer concerns across a wide range of support issues, ensuring both mission readiness and customer satisfaction. Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, providing ongoing technical and business support to assigned military organizations.
Technical Support & Product Expertise
Utilizein-depth knowledgeof F101/F118 product lines, configurations, and installation environments to advise on operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Applyanalytical thinking and technical experienceto execute on contract deliverables, including complex maintenance and troubleshooting processes. Demonstrateproficiency in repair, modification, shop operations, and testingof assigned propulsion system hardware.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Leadership
Coordinate directly with internal GE functions (engineering, program management, supply chain, quality) toescalate and resolve issueson behalf of the customer. Act as aresource and mentorfor colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with low risk and resource requirements. Usesound judgmentto propose solutions outside of set parameters when addressing complex or interdependent technical issues.
Communication, Training & Continuous Improvement
Prepare and deliverformal presentationsand briefings to all levels of customer maintenance, engineering, and management. Transfer technical knowledgeto customer and GE personnel by leveraging knowledge of the learning process and effective training techniques. Supportcontinuous improvementand quality initiatives by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions or process improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of4 years of experiencein a field service / maintenance role as a Military Field Service Representative
Experience:
- Minimum of5 years of field maintenance, modification, and repair experienceon propulsion system products
