The intern will support the Tenant Representation team in delivering strategic real estate advisory and transaction services to corporate occupiers across office and industrial sectors.
This role provides hands-on exposure to the full commercial leasing cycle, including market research, site identification, financial analysis, lease evaluation, and transaction coordination. Working alongside senior transactors, the intern will deliver analytical and administrative support while gaining direct insight into client advisory processes, negotiations, and high-profile occupier mandates.
The position is suited to individuals interested in pursuing and developing a career in commercial real estate advisory and tenant representation. The internship offers meaningful exposure to the industry with opportunities to build a professional network. Interns who demonstrate strong performance, professionalism, and commercial aptitude may be considered for continued development within the business following completion of the program.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct commercial real estate micro and macroeconomic market research across office and industrial sectors.
- Analyse vacancy trends, rental benchmarks, and market supply and demand dynamics.
- Compile research summaries and insights for internal teams and client deliverables.
Transaction Support
Assist transaction teams throughout the leasing process, including:
- Property longlisting and site identification
- Coordinating site inspections and property tours
- Supporting the development of RFPs (Request for Proposals) to landlords
- Reviewing and analysing landlord proposals
- Assisting with financial lease comparison models and cashflow analysis
- Assisting with the preparation and production of client presentations, pitch decks and advisory reports (e.g. market studies and strategic real estate recommendations)
- Supporting lease abstractions and document reviews
- Coordinate with internal project teams, brokers and landlords during transactions.
Data Management & Administrative Support
- Maintain and update transaction pipeline tracking
- Support CRM, property database management, and transaction reporting
- KYC / FICA coordination
Exposure & Learning Opportunities
The internship provides exposure to several aspects of commercial real estate advisory, including:
- Site inspections and property tours
- Client strategy discussions
- Commercial leasing negotiations
- Corporate real estate advisory processes
- High-profile occupier mandates across lease acquisitions, renewals, regears, disposals and portfolio optimisation
- Proprietary property technology
- South African market dynamics and global industry best practices
The intern will work alongside experienced real estate advisors and gain insight into the full transaction lifecycle.
Qualifications & Academic Background
Candidates should possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Real Estate / Property Studies
- Business Administration / Commerce
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
Technical Skills
Proficiency in the following tools is required:
Microsoft Office Suite (Essential)
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Word
- OneDrive
- Microsoft Teams
Additional exposure (training will be provided):
- Internal CRM and property technology systems
- GIS and mapping solutions
