Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods between locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness before each shift
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and operational standards
Experience
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type with a clean driving record
- Proven experience operating commercial or company vehicles in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of local routes, traffic laws, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and customers
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and work in various weather conditions
