Job Summary:
EPD is looking for a talented and motivated demand manager to lead in dynamic times. This person will manage and lead Large Electric Power Solutions (LEPS) Demand Planning and WW Control Tower order management functions including lead time management / order scheduling /order prioritization, metrics and reporting of supply chain performance, and overall RFP and S&OP management for LEPS products. This person will ensure linkage between sales team members and customer order prioritization and the LPSD execution team.
What you will do:
- This position provides leadership and direction to multiple E&T facilities on planning, scheduling, and management of LEPS orders. Helps align customer needs with multiple factory schedules in maximizing PINS.
- Incumbent ensures facility production schedules provide proper product availability to dealers/customers while balancing manufacturing constraints or issues. This position works with facility Sales and Operations Planning, ensuring robust process conformance.
- Accountable for managing demand management process from monthly industry, dealer and sales team input and internal consensus building to the communication of monthly demand signal updates to the plants through the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Included is the update of the LEPS annual business plan and long-term forecast. This position is also responsible for managing support of and improvements to related forecast tools and processes.
- Responsible for scheduling, preparing support materials for, and participating in demand review meetings as well as the S&OP meetings with plants and regions.
- Monitor and review the overall product sales and orders activities and assist Regional Sales Mangers, Account/Territory Managers as necessary. Plan key and large project orders working with various business partners. Consolidate regional forecasts for inputs to the business plan process.
- Recommend and develop processes to prioritize order backlog to maximize customer satisfaction and manage through the LEPS leadership team.
- Works with sales managers to ensure manufacturing footprint demand is maximized via worldwide sourcing strategies.
- Leads efforts to improve communications and align manufacturing activities. Leads efforts to communicate S&OP and related updates (lead times, changes to scheduling, ongoing factory updates) to LEPS Global Sales Organization.
- Direct Reports (between 2-4) include Demand and Orders Managers and Analysts. Incumbent manages department resources, providing focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports. This position is responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring department resources. Incumbent is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.

- Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.
- Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products.
- Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.
Additional Information:
- This position is located in Lafayette, IN (preferred) or Irving, TX.
- Domestic and international travel up to 15% is required.

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
