About the role
The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the principal training resource for a datacenter campus or metro location. In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to safety and training. The field training officer reports directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), and will work closely with other sites, regional, and headquarters leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus leadership to assess employees, site, and campus needs.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will support and serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and sustainment training. You will train and certify new security personnel, asking for assistance from Administrative Officers (AOs) with on-the-job (OTJ) tasks related to new security personnel as needed. You will perform ongoing training and evaluation for security personnel to maintain a high security standard for all officers, and you will be responsible for tracking various training (production, sustainment, new site starts, and other performance and role related training gaps as identified by the site leadership team) completion for all security personnel.
You will prioritize safety awareness among the campus team and champion safety initiatives developed at the global and regional program level. You will coordinate with local leadership and the PMO training team to develop site plans and roll out trainings. You will recommend onboarding and training schedules in accordance with training needs for security staff to the Field Training Manager, Branch, site and campus security managers.
You will conduct recurring training audits and prepare and submit critical and confidential information to campus site leadership. You will maintain required training and safety documentation, ensuring accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures and provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale to campus site leadership.
You will also identify security shortfalls and offer suggestions for improving the security program and evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility to the site security leadership.
What you need to apply
To apply for this role, you should have an associate’s degree and 2 or more years of experience in the security industry and/or business management, 2 years of training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Experience in data centers and training development preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Excel is required. You must possess reliable communication and transportation.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess the legal right to work in the job location. A valid driver’s license or access to reliable means of transportation is required. A valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport immediately is essential. Travel (international or domestic, as required) up to 50% of the time, occasionally with limited notice may be required in the role, as well as working evening or weekend hours when required, such as during an emergency or high-priority event. Candidates must be willing to undergo the company’s pre-employment screening process, which includes a background check and drug screening. You must be able to maintain professionalism and composure in urgent or high-pressure situations and handle sensitive or confidential information responsibly. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
