In this role, you will:
Demonstrate subject matter knowledge within the Life Insurance sector and a strong understanding of the companies within the sector
Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets
Create and update financial models and databases
Author, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes
Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents
Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content
Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A BS/BA or higher
Direct experience in the Life Insurance sector or prior equity research coverage of this industry
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Job Expectations:
- Up to 10% travel
- Registration for FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 86 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 87 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
