The Advanced Systems Development (ASD) team creates business growth opportunities for the division by working closely with the end customers in creating new higher risk differentiated solutions that are typically outside of the current divisional commitments.
The Development Operations Engineer will work collaboratively with the Continuous Integration and software Engineering teams to deploy and operate development & test systems. You will help automate and streamline product operations and processes; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations; and troubleshoot / resolve issues in our development, test and production environments and act in the role of a key systems administrator for the DevOps systems.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Manage shared systems and services, docker orchestrator, service registry, secrets management and more.
- Write production-quality tools to reduce toil for the Engineering team and help automate the technical ecosystem to help us scale.
- Assist other teams to utilize our observability tools and scripts to debug production systems.
- Help shape the technologies used at Zebra Technologies to solve some of our fundamental challenges (e.g. CI/CD, container orchestration, logging, security, etc.)
Skills
- Experience in software development in a programming language (Java, Go, Python, etc).
- Experience in administering Linux systems.
- Experience working with modern DevOps tooling, understanding concepts/tooling such as:
- Infrastructure as Code (Chef, Ansible, Scripts), Docker Orchestration (Kubernetes), service discovery, secrets management etc.
- Experience with using Helm/Tiller charts to generate Kubernetes manifests.
- Experience working in teams to develop and support production-quality tools and/or services to support internal/external teams (engineer, services, etc.).
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with other engineering teams using established platforms/tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience delivering successful DevOps / platform-related projects.
- Knowledge of build automation, as well as experience with proven CI systems such as TeamCity, and Jenkins
- Experience working with Docker and at thorough understanding of containerization.

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, including a range of IT-related subjects

- familiarity version control and build automation systems (e.g. Git with GitHub Actions), basics of IT security
- Experience in software development in a programming language (Java, Go, Python, etc).

Salary: USD 68400.00 - USD 94000.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
