Job Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician
Grade: £19.72 plus shift allowance
Location : Shrewsbury

Job Summary
The Maintenance Department is responsible for continually improving the availability and reliability of facility production equipment. Significant investment in people and equipment has created a motivated, highly engaged team delivering strong results using modern maintenance techniques and technology.
As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician, you will maintain and improve facility uptime using TPM, fault analysis, and planned maintenance strategies. The role involves fault‑finding across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, supporting calibration activities, and working closely with manufacturing teams to maximise equipment availability.
You will gain exposure to leading manufacturing technologies and equipment from brands such as Heller, Okuma, Yamazaki Mazak, and Harry Major.
What You Will Do:
Fault‑find on electrical, control, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Work to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
Respond promptly to breakdowns and liaise effectively with local leadership and stakeholders
Use mobile devices to manage assigned work orders
Liaise with Production and Engineering teams to maintain equipment availability
Deliver high levels of equipment availability to internal customers
Ensure safe working practices at all times, including producing and following risk assessments
Investigate machine‑related quality issues in a structured and logical manner
Verbally report and document daily issues for effective shift handover
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
NVQ Level 3 / Time‑served apprenticeship in Maintenance Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
Electrical installation and fault‑finding experience
Experience with PLC systems, diagnostics, and fault‑finding
Knowledge of CNC, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems
Broad mechanical experience (e.g. motors, gearboxes, drives)
Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
Experience in site infrastructure maintenance
Self‑motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Forklift, MEWP, and crane licences
Manufacturing environment experience
IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and Agility applications
Additional Information:
Shift Pattern: Night shift – 37 hours per week, 4 nights (Monday–Thursday, 21:45–07:30)
Shift allowance applicable
Paid overtime available when required
Site‑specific training and inductions will be carried out on day shift (Monday–Thursday, 07:30–17:15) as required
