Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our GFSO Reporting Tower Bangalore -Global Finance Services Division.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst within Caterpillar’s Global Finance Division, you will be instrumental in developing and supporting web-based analytics solutions. The role involves partnering with global stakeholders—including business managers, accountants, and senior leadership—to design data visualizations and automate reporting, thereby enabling standardized and scalable business intelligence. You will collaborate across business units and the Strategy team to ensure process alignment, support onboarding of future initiatives, and drive innovation for Caterpillar’s worldwide operations.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore, Whitefield Office
What you will do:
As part of Caterpillar’s Global Finance Division, the Business Intelligence Analyst role will have the opportunity to develop and support web-based solutions functionality of one or more applications or business to support our Descriptive Analytics Team. This role will partner with Strategy & Execution Business Manager, Senior Staff Accountants, senior leadership and other key global stakeholders to design and develop key data visualizations and automation for Caterpillar’s global leadership and key stakeholders. In addition to ensuring a successful reporting standardization and transition, the role offers opportunity to identify and lead onboarding future processes. This position will work closely with business units across the enterprise and the Global Finance Strategy team to ensure alignment of processes for Caterpillar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Web-based solution: Develop smart web solutions that outperform standard reports, using modern tech for better analytics and useful insights.
- Innovation & Automation: Automate data workflows and reporting with Python, and help build scalable business intelligence and data visualization platforms using relevant tools.
- PowerPlatform integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate web reporting and automation via Power Platform, develop and maintain standard dashboards in Power BI and SQL, and assist in creating low-code solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation:
- Collaborate with business users to understand basic requirements.
- Support documentation of processes, workflows, and solution designs.
- Testing & Deployment Support:
- Participate in the creation and execution of test scripts for new features and deployments.
- Assist in reviewing training materials and user guides.
- Develop automation solutions using best-in-class technologies
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Support communication between technical teams and business users.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Help identify and resolve routine issues in applications or processes.
- Escalate complex problems to senior team members with appropriate context.
- Learning & Development:
- Stay updated on the current trends to continue scaling up in data analytics.
- Actively participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions and training.
What you will have
- 4–8 years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), with demonstrated capabilities in leveraging AI-driven analytics and developing Python-based web reporting solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Exposure to working in a global or cross-functional team setup is a plus.
- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office
- Shift Timing:01:00-10:00PM IST
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience supporting reporting or automation projects in a business environment.
- Understanding of Python and data science concepts.
- Understanding business processes in finance and operations is advantageous.
